☞ Want to enhance your sticky-note-taking game, you’ve arrived at the right spot.

Content

3. Sticky notes allow to write down your thoughts or your ideas and keep record of the conversations between the book and you.

☞ In order to make these an effective tool you need to have them handy.

I always carry around a minimal pack of sticky notes that I’ve assembled in a kit.

This way I always have a way of marking things that were of interest or worth noting down.

☞ What things can you note?

Fiction books

  • thoughts about the content
  • a link made between one work and others
  • make summaries
  • make a character’s profile
  • answer who/what/where/when/why
  • note the recurrence of themes or the way they manifest
  • divide the narrative a different way

Non-Fiction Books

  • draw diagrams
  • add definitions
  • complete the information in the book
  • leave notes for further inquiries
  • answer questions the text makes
  • build hypotheses of your own
  • comment the reasonning
  • question the methods

☞ Wether you want to complete the information in a book, add your own insights, criticize it or add to the argument, sticky notes are a great way to leave a mark without making it permanent. They adapt marvellously to the amount and type of information you like to work with.

☞ What is your favourite way to use sticky notes?
