๐Ÿ’ฌ Non-native Co-teacher

Story

Often times when you work as a foreign teacher in an English school, you get paired with a local teacher who knows the language of the students.

This sometimes means you’re still the main teacher or you’re the secondary teacher in charge of the pronunciation.

Whichever the case, you find yourself with a co-teacher who can intervene in your lesson.

This can lead to a variety of conflicts from the philosophy of how to educate a student (i.e.: with regular encouragements) or how to teach them a language (i.e.: by rote memorization versus through natural daily practice).

You’re often left to fend for yourself as a foreigner, but I was able to talk it out with my coworker after the students left.

Keep this in mind for when you decide to jump into your teaching adventure.
